Learner Objectives
• Identify latitude, longitude,
prime meridian, international date line, and equator.
• Compute the latitude and longitude of
objects.
Procedure
• Using the Introduction
to Latitude/Longitude page, create a transparency
for the overhead. • Identify and discuss
the concepts of:

• To test knowledge, the two-page Latitude/Longitude
Handout may be used (see above). The answer key
is below. World maps may be used instead to create
a "Navigation Bee" in which students
test their skills identifying locations based
on coordinates provided by the instructor. Higher-level
identification may be done by having students
compute the coordinates of a city or a country.
