Recovery and Conservation of the USS Monitor Engine, Turret and Artifacts

Since the USS Monitor's discovery in 1973, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Navy have supported numerous expeditions to survey, explore, stabilize, and recover portions of the famous Civil War ironclad. Audiences will learn more about the recovery of USS Monitor artifacts, their conservation, and The Mariners’ Museum’s plans for exhibiting these priceless artifacts in the Monitor Center.
