Join the crew at The Mariners' Museum for an exciting summer! The Education Department is offering a variety of summer education programs for pre-school, elementary, and middle-school aged children. Young children are invited to join educators for a weekly story-hour and simple craft. Older elementary and middle-school students will enjoy an all-day adventure of fun and exploration during our week-long day camp sessions.

Sea Tales
Tuesdays, June 3, 10, 17, & 24 at 10:00am
Preschool through rising 2nd graders and parents/caregivers.
During this 45-minute program your child will be immersed in stories of the sea. Topics will include lighthouses, mermaids, shipwrecks, and sea critters! Afterwards, educators will help the children create a simple craft that illustrates the lesson or information learned during the story. Cost is $3 per child. Parents must remain with their child during the Sea Tales session.

Young Sailors
Monday through Friday, July 7 through 11, 9:30am to 4:00pm
Rising 3rd through 6th graders
Young Sailors day camp is a week-long maritime adventure for elementary-aged students! Each day of Young Sailors camp is packed with activities that allow campers to expand their imagination as they roam through museum galleries, explore the outdoors, and create art all while learning the history, lore, and science of the sea.

Monday: Pirates
Tuesday: I Spy: Photographic Adventure
Wednesday: Shipwrecks
Thursday: Noland Trail
Friday: What Floats Your Boat?

Cost is $195 for non-members and $175 for Museum Members. Before and after program care is available for an additional fee.

Kayak Kids
Monday through Friday, August 4 through 8, 9:30- 4:00
Rising 7th through 9th graders
Join The Mariners' Museum and the Chesapeake Experience for a week of fun on Lake Maury. This full day camp includes daily kayak excursions, crabbing, seining, fishing, species identification, nature walks, scavenger hunts, bay crafts, games, and more as middle-schoolers gain a new and exciting appreciation for the Chesapeake Bay and the natural surroundings of The Mariners' Museum.

Cost is $200. Before and after program care is available for an additional fee.
