Imported cars coming down the ramp of a roll-on roll-off car carrier. Ro-ros ,as they are called, can carry huge numbers of vehicles capable of being driven on and off the ship. The U.S. government keeps a number of these vessels in a state of readiness in the event of war. These ships would be able to deliver trucks, tanks, and personnel carriers, to a war zone if the need arose.
