Homeschool Co-Ops/Support Groups

Fieldtrips - For Homeschool Co-Ops and Support Groups
Interested in attending a program but unable to attend one of our scheduled programs? Looking to explore a maritime subject not currently scheduled? Then plan a fieldtrip of your own! Organize families from your local homeschool co-op or neighborhood, select a program that meets your educational goals, and choose a day and time that best fits your schedule.

The Mariners' Museum offers 17 programs designed to enhance and supplement your children's education, giving them the opportunity to touch, smell, see, listen, read, and discuss. Many of our programs include the hands-on use of original or replica artifacts, allowing students the opportunity to actively participate in the program. A docent-led tour introduces students to 3,000 years of maritime history and completes and complements your learning experience.

Some of our most popular offerings include: Age of Exploration, Captive Passage, Clash of Armor, and Big Winds, Big Waves: The Science of Hurricanes. Please click here to see a complete listing of our science and history options.

Program Cost
Cost is $8 per student/chaperone, with 1 free chaperone for every 10 students. Groups can schedule a fieldtrip with a minimum of 10 students, maximum of 120. Groups bringing 25 or more students will only be charged $7.50 per student/chaperone. Children ages 4 years old and younger who are not participating in the program will be admitted free of charge.

Programs are available Monday through Friday 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. Special accommodations can be made for weekend programming. Reservations are required for all programs and are booked on a first-come, first-served basis. Program times fill quickly in the fall and spring, so try to make your reservations a minimum of one month in advance.
