Activity Two / Create an Astrolabe
Instructions for Students

Materials
Pattern (click to download a pdf file)
Lightweight cardboard (cereal box)
Rubber cement, glue stick, or school glue
Scissors or craft knife
Hole punch or awl to make holes
2 small Brads

Directions
Glue pattern to cardboard.
Cut out parts.
Using hole punch or awl, put hole in pieces at dots.
Fold tabs on vanes and glue to alidade so fold aligns with dotted line and vanes stick straight up.
Fasten alidade to center of plate with small brad.
Fasten ring and shackle to top of plate.
