Patron Societies

Patron Societies represent an important source of annual membership gift income to The Mariners' Museum. They were established to recognize those whose dedication to advancing the work of the Museum sets them apart and enables the Museum to pursue the mission established by its founder, Archer M. Huntington. Members of the Patron Societies support the Museum with an annual membership gift of $1,000 or more.

Your membership in The Patron Societies of The Mariners' Museum has a far greater impact on the Museum's success than individual membership alone. It also brings unique opportunities:

• You will keep in touch with other Patron members through a series of President's Receptions. These informal gatherings are valuable opportunities to share plans for the Museum's future.
• Your membership will bring you closer to the work of the Museum through individual and group meetings and special events.

Ferguson Society: $1,000
This Patron Society is named for Homer L. Ferguson, president of then Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Company during the Museum's formative years. Ferguson, along with the Huntington family, laid the foundation for the Museum as we know it today.
