Monitor - History and Legacy

The Monitor Collection

    Under a cooperative agreement with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), The Mariners' Museum has curatorial responsibility for the Monitor Collection, including the research material and artifacts recovered from the ship. The collection includes historical information on the Monitor's officers and crew, technical and historical reports and studies, videotapes, photographs, slides, news articles, publications, and information on the CSS Virginia. The research material, housed in the Museum's library, is available to the public by appointment Monday through Friday.
