Christopher Leahy Named The Mariners' Museum's Vice President of Finance and Administration
Newport News, Va.-Timothy J. Sullivan, President and CEO of The Mariners' Museum, is pleased to welcome Christopher Leahy as the new vice president for finance and administration. Mr. Leahy will oversee the accounting, information technology, and human resources departments of America's National Maritime Museum.
"The Mariners' Museum is a thriving, ever changing institution and a unique jewel for Newport News and Hampton Roads." Sullivan said. "I have every confidence that with his experience in the museum world, Chris is well prepared to play a major role in the continued success of the Museum and we look forward to having him as a brilliant addition to the staff."
Leahy has experience in finance administration with a diverse background of organizations, including the United States Army, CALIBRE Systems, Inc., in Alexandria, Virginia and the Phillips Collection and Corcoran Gallery of Art and College of Art and Design in Washington D.C.
"I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity to join the staff of The Mariners' Museum as we capitalize on great ground work to reach and expand our audiences," said Leahy.
Mr. Leahy will also be responsible for the protection services, visitor services, and facilities management areas of the Museum.

The Mariners' Museum, an educational, non-profit institution accredited by the American Association of Museums, preserves and interprets maritime history through an international collection of ship models, figureheads, paintings and other maritime artifacts.
